The Year 2010 Was Excellent For The K-Actresses

It can be called a co-incidence of sorts that most of the films that have done well at the ticket window this year star heroines whose names start with the initial K.

Starting with the most experienced Kajol who started the year on a high with the hit MY NAME IS KHAN, where she was paired with her favourite co-star Shah Rukh Khan. She did disappoint a bit with her second and third release, WE ARE FAMILY and TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO, but her super sensitive act as Mandira in MNIK saved the day for Kajol and her fans.

Then comes the most successful and certainly the numero-uno heroine of Bollywood, Katrina Kaif, who has a super hit in form of RAAJNEETI and her latest release TEES MAAR KHAN too has embarked upon a historic start netting almost 40 crore during the first weekend itself, second only to the biggest DABANGG.

If Katrina is there can Kareena be left far behind? Well, not at all. Kareena Kapoor may have had a bad year with her moth ridden MILENGE MILENGE and WE ARE FAMILY failing at the turnstile but she did recover with the blockbuster GOLMAAL 3 thus ending the year on a high note.

Last but not the least two names that might surprise quite a few, Kangna Ranaut, with her stellar performance in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI and the hugely talented Konkona Sen Sharma with her spontaneously brilliant act in ATITHI TUM KAB JAOGE?

Well, so the K factor works not only for Karan Johar but also for the heroines in Bollywood.

Saif Ali Khan - The Nawab At The Race Course

The festive season was off to a great start with the race course seeing some exciting races on Sunday. And this Sunday, the top businessmen in the city seemed to be taking a break from their hectic schedules and made sure they were here to watch the races.

Vijay Mallya took time out to bond with his buddies and was seen obliging a small kid who came to ask him for an autograph. Gautam Singhania too was seen chatting with Vivek Jain and Riyad Oomerbhoy. Dr Cyrus Poonawala and Adar Poonawala too dropped in, while Nisha Jamvwal’s bright red dress and hat was a headturner.

The dashing Saif Ali Khan made a late entry but made up for it by cheerfully waving out to the crowd. Also seen having an exciting time at the races were Shamita Singha, Anu Malik, Atul Kasbekar, Pesi Shroff, Divya Thakur and Rodney Barnes.
